Everything required to prepare a manuscript for the HGU Research Journal: article types and requirements, formatting rules, editorial policies, and a pre-submission checklist. Start from the official template to save a revision round.

Before You Submit

Pre-submission checklist

Work through every item. Submissions failing the first two points are returned at desk screening without review.

  1. 01Manuscript uses the journal template and falls within the word range for its article type.

  2. 02All author names, affiliations, acknowledgements and identifying file metadata removed.

  3. 03Structured abstract of 150–250 words with four to six keywords.

  4. 04Headings numbered decimally, no more than three levels deep.

  5. 05Every table and figure numbered, titled and cited in the text.

  6. 06References complete, APA 7th edition, DOIs included where available.

  7. 07Ethics approval, consent and any registration numbers stated in the methods.

  8. 08Funding, conflicts of interest, data availability and AI-use declarations completed.

  9. 09Separate title page prepared with corresponding-author contact details and ORCID iDs.

  10. 10Spelling and grammar checked; a colleague has read the manuscript before submission.
