Last updated: 2026-07-06

This page describes how Highstone Global University Library ("we", "us") handles copyright in the catalogue and how rights-holders can request removal of content.

Catalogue metadata

Bibliographic records (title, authors, publisher, ISBN, subject classification) are used for cataloguing and discovery. Where cover images or short descriptions are displayed, they are sourced from publishers, from OpenLibrary, or from the rights-holder, and are shown for identification purposes only.

Physical loans

Borrowing physical items owned by the Library is governed by applicable copyright exceptions for libraries (such as fair use, fair dealing, or equivalent statutory provisions in your jurisdiction). We do not distribute digital copies of copyrighted works through this Service.

Takedown requests

If you believe that a listing on this Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice to the Library administration including:

  • Your name, organisation, and contact details.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • The URL(s) on this Service where the material appears.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights-holder, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury where applicable, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights-holder.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review complete notices promptly and, where appropriate, remove or restrict access to the material and notify you of the action taken.
