Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 2026-07-06
This page is maintained by Highstone Global University Library to describe the accessibility of the catalogue and lending service (the "Service"). We are committed to ensuring the Service is usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities.
Conformance target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is a self-assessment; it has not been independently audited.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML with labelled landmarks, headings, and form controls.
- Keyboard-navigable catalogue, filters, pagination, and dialogs, with visible focus indicators.
- Skip-to-content link on every page and an accessible language switcher.
- Live-region announcements for pagination and asynchronous updates.
- Alt text on book covers and decorative-image handling for icons.
- Right-to-left layout support for Arabic and other RTL languages.
- Colour tokens tuned for contrast in both light and dark themes.
- Automated accessibility checks (axe) run against key pages.
Known limitations
Some third-party content in the catalogue (e.g. cover images sourced from publishers) may lack detailed descriptions. We are working with upstream providers to improve this.
Report a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier or need content in an alternative format, please contact the Library administration. We aim to respond within five working days.
The Library owner should review this statement and update contact details, formal complaint channels, and any regulatory references (e.g. Section 508, EN 301 549, EAA) applicable to their jurisdiction.
