Article Types
Word counts exclude the abstract, references and appendices. Choose the type that fits your contribution — the editorial desk may suggest a different one at screening.
5,000–8,000 words
Empirical studies with a full methods and results account. Requires an ethics statement where human or animal subjects are involved.
6,000–9,000 words
Systematic, scoping or integrative reviews. State the search strategy, databases, date range and inclusion criteria.
3,000–5,000 words
Single-site or single-subject analyses with clear transferable lessons. Consent for identifiable details is mandatory.
1,500–3,000 words
Concise reports of preliminary findings, methodological notes or replication attempts.
800–1,500 words
Critical appraisal of a scholarly work published within the last three years. Commissioned or proposed to the editor.
